Melton Renewable Energy has been delivering a vital energy and agricultural residue disposal service for over 30 years and forms a core part of the regional energy mix across the UK.

We work with local communities to responsibly manage our operations and provide economic opportunities around the areas in which we work.

Eye Power Station commissioned
(first biomass power station in UK)
1993
Glanford commissioned
1998
Chelson Meadow & United Mines
LFG sites commissioned
1999
Thetford commissioned
(largest biomass power station in the world)
and Whinney Hill LFG site commissioned
2000
Glanford converted from poultry litter to meat and bone meal;
Ely Power Station commissioned (first straw burning station in UK);Cotesbach LFG site commissioned
2001
Westfield Power Station commissioned
(first biomass station to use fluidised bed technology)
2005
Stoneyhill LFG site commissioned
2021
Commenced MSA for Brigg & Snetterton
and Commenced MSA for Oldhall Energy Recovery Facility

Oldhall Energy Recovery Facility groundworks and build commenced
